After starting pre-season with a 5-1 win against Ipswich Town in a behind closed doors friendly, Arsenal have headed to Germany in order to continue their preparations for the new campaign.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be taking on newly-promoted Bundesliga side Nurnberg, who play at the Max-Morlock Stadion.

Nurnberg has been a yo-yo club the last half-decade, promoted in 2018 only to be relegated the following year. After two more seasons in Germany’s second tier, they have been promoted again and will compete in the Bundesliga next campaign.

The Sporting News brings you all the information that you need to know ahead of the game.

It will take place at Max-Morlock Stadion in Nurnberg, with a capacity of roughly 50,000 spectators. The ground opened way back in 1928.

The game is Arsenal’s second match of the 2021/22 pre-season, with games against Everton, Orlando City SC, and Chelsea scheduled to take place in the United States over the next month. They conclude the pre-season with a game against Sevilla at home in the Emirates Cup.

How could Arsenal line up?

Given that it is a pre-season fixture it isn’t entirely clear who will start for Arsenal, but it is likely that most of the players who featured against Ipswich could be involved. Talented young left-back Lino Sousa could be called upon, while Eddie Nketiah is likely to start up front.

It’s possible that Gabriel Jesus could be involved in some capacity after starting training this week following his move from Manchester City. Goalkeeper Matt Turner and winger Marquinhos could also receive their first run-outs for Arsenal.
