MK Dons have missed some big opportunities to overtake Rotherham in the battle for automatic promotion from League One and their last chance could evaporate at playoff hopefuls Plymouth.
One point separates the Dons from second-placed Rotherham but their goal difference is inferior by six, so they approach the last league match knowing they must strive for victory.
The situation is less clear-cut for sixth-placed Plymouth, who possess a narrow two-goal advantage over seventh-placed Wycombe, but are in with a chance of catching two of the teams above them.
However, a win would give Plymouth the best possible chance and they look capable of getting it.
Argyle have taken 19 points from their last seven home games and the support of their passionate home fans may help to swing a tight encounter in their favour.
There’s good news for the home side here, with captain Joe Edwards potentially set to be available for the match on Saturday. Edwards has missed Argyle’s last three matches due to an ankle injury.
Meanwhile, the Pilgrim’s will certainly be without midfielder Panutche Camara after he picked up a hamstring injury during Easter Monday’s draw with Sunderland.
For the visitors MK Dons meanwhile, Connor Wickham could be set for a return, with boss Liam Manning confirming in his press conference today that the striker had been back in training this week.
Manning confirmed that there were no fresh injury concerns elsewhere, with no players other than Jay Bird, Mohamed Eisa and Tennai Watson set to miss the match
Southern Premier winners Southampton FC host Cardiff City Ladies, who occupy the last relegation place, two points behind MK Dons. Ipswich lead Oxford by one point in the race for the runners-up spot, Town away at Portsmouth and United visiting Gillingham.
