Manchester United and Manchester City lock horns in the first Manchester derby of the ongoing 2021-22 Premier League season on Saturday at Old Trafford.

Only three points separate the two clubs as the Cityzens currently grab the third position on the league table after 10 matches with 20 points in their kitty. Their rivals, on the other hand, occupy the fifth position with 17 points.

The two clubs have to date met each other 185 times in competitive matches out of which the Red Devils have won on 77 occasions while City have 55 wins. 53 matches have ended in a draw.

Former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney is the all-time highest goalscorer in Manchester derby’s history with 11 goals to his name. Ryan Giggs is the most capped player in the derby’s history with 36 appearances.

The City of Manchester will be at a stand-still on Saturday as the fierce rivals clash in their 186th edition of the Manchester Derby at Old Trafford. The Red Devils, for the fourth successive campaign, have lost three matches in the first 10 league games, winning five and drawing two.

After an embarrassing 5-0 loss at the same venue against Liverpool, United coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer cannot afford another loss, although they have managed three wins, a draw, and a loss in their last five meetings in all competitions.

The Citizens will come into the match encouraged with their fair run over the Red Devils in the league whereby in six outings, they have collected three wins, two draws, and a loss. Last week, City suffered a shock 2-0 loss at home against Crystal Palace which put them five points behind leaders Chelsea.
