Vinnie Iyer writes: “The Seahawks are another strong road team from the West Coast and there’s no time adjustment issues in Week 1. The Colts feel good about both Carson Wentz and Quenton Nelson being available to anchor their offense in the opener. But it’s still Russell Wilson in a new-look offense under Shane Waldron on the other side and he should be the more trustworthy QB with established elite weapons.
Wilson can help Seattle support the running game better than a rusty Wentz will do for Indianapolis, with Jamal Adams cleaning up late to live up to his contract.”
Mike Lukas writes: “The Seattle Seahawks are slightly favored in this one and for good reason – unlike their Week 1 opponent they have a healthy QB in Russell Wilson who is now reporting to a new OC Shane Waldron who will no doubt take full advantage of speedy WRs DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett as long as DC Ken Norton’s upgraded defensive squad can keep the Colts off the field.
No doubt the Indianapolis Colts are a talented team, but right now QB Carson Wentz is fresh off a recent foot injury and subsequent surgery, so his Week 1 performance could be affected if he does indeed suit up as planned, while on the other side of the ball rookie DE Kwity Paye will be doing his best to hunt Wilson down next to veteran DT DeForest Buckner.
Take the Seahawks here since the spread is narrow, Wilson and his offense should be a well-oiled machine by now, and even if Wentz can go in Week 1, that offense could be rusty without the reps they missed while he was gone.”
For the Colts, slowing down their dynamic duo at wide receiver is going to be a tough task. DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are one of the best 1-2 punches in the NFL, and Indy having no Xavier Rhodes is a gut-punch.

Metcalf will likely be lined up against Rock Ya-Sin, which could easily decide this game. Meanwhile, expect Kenny Moore to shadow Tyler Lockett throughout.
This will come down to the Seahawks’ offense against the Colts’ defense. If the front four can get consistent pressure and harass Wilson, making him uncomfortable and second-guessing his reads, this will lean in the home team’s favor. If Wilson carves up this secondary, which is probable without pressure, it will be a long day for Indianapolis.
