Fulham defender Kenny Tete has suffered a serious hamstring injury that has forced the club to change their plans before next week’s transfer deadline.
Head coach Marco Silva did not reveal a time frame for the defender’s return during his pre-match press conference on Friday, but did say he would not need surgery at this point.
Tete has played in each of Fulham’s four Championship matches this season but was forced off against Hull City with the injury.
Silva said : “Kenny Tete will be out of the game (against Stoke). It will be longer than what we expected. It’s something I can be sure, how long he could be. But it’s more serious than the last game looked like.

“Now is the time to see the best way to treat the player. It is his hamstring. It will be for the medical staff to give a report. We are not talking about surgery at this moment but you never know what can happen. It will be for the medical staff to give a report.”
Silva also revealed that defender Tim Ream and young midfielder Fabio Carvalho would be available for tomorrow’s game after injury, as well as Harrison Reed, who is yet to make an appearance this season.
